Together with Slow Food, Visit Sacramento is excited to announce Terra Madre Americas in Sacramento.  This inaugural event will bring the food education, slow-food mission and awareness of the impact of sustainable agriculture for which Terra Madre Salone del Gusto has set the worldwide standard.

At Memorial Auditorium, guests will have the opportunity to explore three key Slow Food themes - coffee, wine, and biocultural territories - and learn from renowned experts at Terra Madre Americas.  The event is free to the public and will include educational and interactive experiences for all ages, with additional ticketed event opportunities for the chance to further expand the experience.

Slow Food Coffee Coalition

The Slow Food Coffee Coalition was established to transform the coffee industry and work to counter the climate crisis by promoting a model for coffee farming that unites all participants in the coffee value chain, respecting biodiversity and nature quickly, so people produce and choose good, clean and fair coffee.

Slow Wine Coalition

Slow Food believes that wine must be good, clean, and fair not just good. Winemakers from the United States, Central America and South America who support and promote these agroecological principles in their territories will be in Sacramento participating in events for all audiences, including walk-around tastings, masterclasses and thematic meetings, all focused on educating the world of Slow Food principles of good, clean and fair wine.

Biocultural Territories of the Americas

Delegates from Latin America and the Caribbean spanning all parts of the food system will explore five crops corn, sugar cane, açaí, cocoa and quinoa that are controversial in terms of good, clean, fair principles and will show participants good practices to safeguard and promote them.

Purchase a ticket to better understand the challenges and good practices related to the food systems and take part in a sensorial experience through cultural food demonstrations and drink pairings.
